| Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
God created His perfect law before He created the heavens and the earth. God created human beings to have relationship with Him. His joy and pleasure is in His creation. God gave us, his created beings, free-will to have interaction with Him. However, there was one flaw. Not a flaw with God but a flaw with us. Being that God created us in His image, He gave us the ability to think, to love, to have emotions, to have wants and desires. Although God's desire at the creation of mankind was for us to love Him with all of our hearts, minds, strength, and soul, He knew the weakness we contained within ourselves. Although were flawed and still are, God still loves us. After the desires of our heart lead us away from God, God gave His law to His servant Moses and to His people the nation of Israel to walk in His ways and keep His commandments. Even with clear directions, they still failed to keep the law the same way we fail to keep God's law. God knew this would happen and His intention for giving us the law was not so we could obtain salvation or be redeemed through it, but so we could see how impossible it is to live up to God's standards on our own strength. From the very beginning, God promised a solution, a Savior, and Redeemer for His creation (Genesis 3:15). The day Jesus Christ was manifested into the pages of history, a new light was shined upon this dark world. Jesus Christ spent 33 years revealing God's heart to mankind. He revealed to us how far we really are from God and how this space between God and man is impossible to be restored through man's end. The Word of God tells us "nothing is impossible with God." (Luke 1:37) Through the great sin and disparity in the world, how much we hated God and were so far away from Him, God sent His only begotten Son to be hung on a cross to be crucified, offered as a sacrifice to take away the sin of the world. After Jesus Christ died a brutal death that was meant for us a cross that was reserved for us, he was buried and descended into depths of the world. On the third day, He was lifted up by God as death had NO power over Him. He rose again with the keys of death and Hell (Hades) as He now rules over Life and Death. Through what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross, He has brought salvation and redemtion to mankind that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16). God has exalted Jesus Christ to His right hand, making Him the Lord over everything. Today is the day of salvation! If the Holy Spirit has opened your eyes to see the truth of the Good News of Jesus Christ and opened your ears to hear the call of salvation by Jesus Christ, pray a simple prayer in like manner: Jesus I turn from my ways that caused You to die for my sin. I ask You to come into my life to be my Lord! |
