| Gospel Haiti is a legally recognized nonprofit organization exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Mission-statementAs followers of Jesus Christ, we exist to fulfill the Great Commission by partnering with the Body of Christ in Western Churches and within Haiti. Through short-term and long-term assistance, the intent of this partnership is to help people experiencing spiritual and physical poverty. We intend to give 100% of the raised support directly to the work in the mission field.
In this passage, Jesus asks his disciples to follow his instructions. In the context of Haiti, we are especially reminded of what Jesus said in Matthew 25:35-36 (For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me). Our intention is to bring the Gospel of Christ to Haiti by taking care of the physical and spiritual needs of the poor. In Haiti, the physical needs of the people need to be addressed in order to help with their spiritual needs. Therefore, our foremost goal is to obey the teaching of Christ by taking care of the needy and supporting our brothers and sisters in Christ. In doing so, we plan to show the Gospel in action and influence the people we partner with, in order to ultimately lead them to the Gospel-centered life. By first focusing on urgent physical needs, we can better address the spiritual needs of the Haitian people. We also acknowledge that God has provided us with friends in Haiti. We plan to partner with them and other committed Christians we may meet who share our vision as our organization. Therefore, the actions of our organization will rely on the relationships we build in Haiti. |
